Our client, a leading global methanol producer wanted to implement Risk Based Inspection (RBI) strategies across all of their operations, recognising the improvements this can bring to their facilities and providing a consistent corporate approach. They needed to ensure that their inspection program met local regulations, was efficient, effective and tailored to their requirements.
How we helped
Our Asset Management team were commissioned to guide our client through the process of implementing a RBI Program. Our team collected the relevant equipment, inspection data and conducted a data validation to ensure the site was ready for implementing the RBI. Following this, they systemised the unit, conducted a Damage Mechanism Review and utilised their chosen software to input the data, assigning risk to the selected assets and create inspection and test plans.
We successfully implemented the RBI programme for this facility resulting in streamlined inspection plans and ensured that the right inspections were carried out at the right frequency, in the right places to minimise loss of containment, facility downtime and optimize the use of resources. Our approach utilised experienced Mechanical Integrity and Corrosion Engineers, leveraging their multi-industry experience to ensure the program was implemented in a timely and focused manner.
