Collaboration was key for ModuSpec, a Vysus Group company, in the successful delivery of a customised rig intake and inspection project.
To meet the exact requirements of Petrogas Netherlands B.V.’s intake of the Maersk Resolute, our onshore technical team, which project manages technical delivery, worked with our client utilising a risk-based approach. Together, we assessed the drilling programme and known status of the jack-up rig to focus on critical elements in advance of a campaign in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.
ModuSpec also liaised with another operator which had contracted the rig after Petrogas – also for work in the Dutch sector – and by working collaboratively, sharing information and using one team for both clients at the same time, we were able to unlock efficiencies and cost savings for all parties involved.
The collaborative approach, which has been well received by all, has led to the award of an additional contract with Petrogas North Sea Ltd, to deliver a similar rig intake and inspection project with the Maersk Resilient, which will be used to drill an appraisal well on the Birgitta field in the UK Southern North Sea.
Mark Watson, Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted to have secured another contract with Petrogas following our initial scope with the Maersk Resolute. We were pleased to work in partnership with the client to offer a service that found efficiencies during rig intake and added real value, rather than proposing an off-the-shelf product.
“Bringing the other operator into the conversation made sense as data and knowledge was shared for mutual benefit, meaning each client could benefit from a wider view. We look forward to our continuing relationship with Petrogas and to working together to deliver real value in the industry.”
Drilling Manager Marcel Van der Meer, from Petrogas Netherlands B.V., said: “The ModuSpec team customised its offering to suit our exact requirements, delivering the rig intake project as well as the inspection, effectively and efficiently. We were impressed by the collaborative and agile approach, which is why we will be working with ModuSpec again on the intake of the Maersk Resilient.”
