ModuSpec advise clients during rig reactivations and vessel start up

ModuSpec is delighted to announce a series of contract wins to support clients during the reactivation of drilling rigs and start-up of a jack-up vessel; a strong indicator that the demand for drilling activity continues to grow across the sector.

In Romania, our ModuSpec team is supporting the rig intake process of a 1980’s-delivered jack-up rig that has been contracted to drill offshore Bulgaria in the Black Sea. The rig is currently being reactivated after being cold stacked for more than a year and we were selected to provide support given the history and track record of supporting local clients in the region, such as Black Sea Oil and Gas (ModuSpec supports Romania’s significant Midia Gas development) and more recently with Trillion Energy (Trillion Energy Announces Drilling)

A team has also been deployed to provide continuous project surveillance for a land drilling rig being reactivated onshore Albania. The equipment has been under preservation for many months and the owner is implementing a programme of maintenance and recertification prior to the unit being shipped to the Middle East for a new campaign. Our team will provide assurance that the maintenance management system is populated with accurate data during the reactivation process, while also assessing the competency of the new drilling crews that will be assigned. The project will last for several months, including being present during the start-up of operations.

Finally, we will provide vessel intake support to a client in the Dutch North Sea who have contracted a self-propelled, dynamically positioned jack-up vessel. The unit which can be used in the oil & gas or renewables industries is currently located in the Port of Amsterdam, and mirrors a recent project with Neptune Energy Netherlands (ModuSpec's success in The Netherlands with Neptune Energy).

Mark Watson, Operations Manager for ModuSpec, said: “Our track record of delivering successful projects to clients, such as Black Sea Oil & Gas and Neptune Energy Netherlands, has effectively positioned ModuSpec in the market to support new clients who have similar needs. A key differentiator is our ability to provide a fully customised intake service, rather than a tick-the-box rig inspection. Our rig and vessel intake projects are underpinned by our office-based technical team who manage the project from start to finish which is a key aspect our clients seek. We extend our gratitude to our clients for keeping their trust in ModuSpec and look forward to delivering on their needs”
